Sassy Girls Cry Too

Smarty,

I know right! Those FB pictures are from last week. Remember I told you I convinced BF to come out dancing with my sexy new dress as the incentive… that pic would be Exhibit A. Originally I didn’t have a tank top on underneath it, but that was just obnoxious amount of breasts! So the tank was a last minute addition. I didn’t want to get stopped for solicitation. :P That was a fun night!

There were just a couple guys at HH at first, but the group got bigger, and then the gals showed up. One of the guys is planning to get engaged next weekend so we ended up taking about engagements, weddings, and all that jazz. One of the other guys had apparently been talked into spending way too much on his wedding and all the party planning hoopla to make his bride happy. That always baffles me. But I know it’s just different strokes for different folks I guess. I’d rather spend our money on a great honeymoon or things for our home… but that’s me. BF arrived at about 6pm and I’d already had quite a few…and then we pigged out. Within an hour it was just BF and the girls… and they decided to head to Olive Garden because Dara had a gift cert there. I was going to go, but BF didn’t feel like hanging out with a bunch of girls he didn’t know, and I’d had a few ::hiccup::... I was being that whiney GF that wants to hang with my BF more than my girls. Guilty. So instead BF and I hit the grocery store and got snacks and wine. As if that weren’t enough, I was still craving wings. Guess Thurs fueled the addiction and I didn’t get enough. So on the way home I called the wing place and ordered for pick-up. We got back home and had a wings and booze picnic on the floor while watching Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Full, buzzed, and silly… we both started passing out less than an hour into the movie… LOL We called it an early night.

Saturday morning is reserved for the gym and wrestling practice. But we made breakfast and lounged for a bit first. Then BF got a call for a quick work thing around noon. So while he was at practice and then working, I was supposed to be at the gym. However, I was apparently feeling very lazy… and decided being lazy and watching TV was a better use of my time. This is how much I detest working out. LOL About 11-ish, I tried to motivate myself and put my work out clothes on. And then even my shoes. And proceeded to sit down again in front of the TV. I knew BF was going to be back a little after noon, but I just had the hardest time getting motivated. So then he gets back and I’m sitting there in my workout clothes and running shoes… and he’s laughing at me. :P He goes “why don’t you just stay here and veg out with me?” And I go “you’re the worst trainer ever. You’re supposed to boss me around and tell me to go work out.” LOL
So I finally left and just forced myself to do at least 30 mins on the elliptical.
Later that afternoon we’re vegging out, thinking about what to do that night… and BF remembered that Sunny hadn’t been to Cinebarre yet. It’s a movie theater where you can order dinner too. Really cool and really yummy. So we ask her if she’s busy. She was so excited. We looked up the listing of current movies playing, our choices were between The Good Guys (Mark Walberg, Will Ferrell) and The Switch (Jen Aniston, Jason Bateman). BF was leaning toward Good Guys, but Sunny can’t stand Will Ferrell. And BF got roped into Charlie St Cloud last time and wasn’t really thrilled about another chick flick… but he’s sweet and caved. LOL Then just as he’s buying the tickets (yup, he volunteered to buy all 3 of our tickets) I notice that Inception (DiCaprio) is still playing, but the sign was sort of hiding under a railing up at the top. I hadn’t seen it on the list when we were looking online, but thought that might be a better option for everyone. So I go… “what about Inception?” as BF is walking back toward us with tickets to The Switch. We all decide that’s a better option and BF exchanges the tickets at the counter. Now we’re all excited. YAY! We lucked out and scored seats in the middle-middle and ordered dinner. So yummy! Now this place is decently priced and the food is good… but the drinks are crazy expensive. So since I’m super classy… I thought ahead and just happened to have the tiny wine bottles in my fridge. I had remembered to put 3 of them in my purse before we left. And voila! Pinot Grigio with my fresh mozza, tomato, and basil pizza. Yummers. BF had one also… and the third was for Sunny, but she opted out and went for a pop instead. Good times, good times.

Sunday was a little odd... BF wasn’t tired Sat night and stayed up almost until dawn playing video games. :P When we got up around 9:30 on Sunday I was looking forward to a lazy morning and maybe some breakfast. BF gets up, pops something in the microwave for himself, and boots up his computer. Granted he wasn’t playing video games… he was checking email and doing my trip sweepstakes, because he’s awesome… but for some reason I got a little irritated by it. Then I was out of Pepsi and decided to try making coffee. I don’t do this very often. In fact, almost never… so in reading the directions to find out how much coffee to put in the maker for 4 cups of water… I got really confused. My coffee “scoop” said 1/8 cup on it. The coffee directions said two tablespoons of coffee for each 8 oz of water (or 120 mL… I think)… I was so confused. Nothing had the same units and I was trying to figure out cups to mL to ounces to whatever… definitely not a good idea when just waking up. So I was pouting and starting to get frustrated about it and BF tried to help… but in his guy way, he started trying to match the measurements to a can of pop/beer at 12 oz and I was just getting more confused. So then he gets frustrated with my attitude and goes “just guess then, I don’t know”. So I gave up and just put a bunch of scoops in the thing and hit start. The coffee turned out really strong and wasn’t very good, so my pout continued. Domestic fail.

I had plans to meet up with Tina since she was in town this weekend, and BF and I were also invited out to his friend Tom’s for wrestling practice, followed by a day at the pool and dinner. We decided to split the plans. Sunny and I would go meet up with Tina and friends for brunch around noon. And BF would go do wrestling with Tom and the guys… then I would drop off Sunny and meet them at the pool later. So after my coffee pout-fest, I clomp into the shower and proceed to prepare for the pool by shaving just about everywhere… and took my time pouting in there. The shower is my safe place. I don’t really know what my problem was … I think I just missed the old days at BF’s place on the weekends, he would always make me breakfast and we’d watch 30 Rock episodes or do a puzzle. It was “us” time… now it’s a little different, but I was just being whiney. Anyway… I had to get ready because Sunny was coming over, and BF had to head out to Tom’s. So he pops in to give me a kiss before he goes and asks if I’m ok. Now I’m not experiencing my monthly hormone-fest this week, but I just started crying a little and tried to explain my mood and he apologizes for being a bit of a jerk. And I think it’s ok. But then I/we start venting a little more and we’re both really honest and real and rational (well maybe not me so much, but I admit when I’m not being rational) and it’s not a “fight” but we just both kind of sigh and he’s goes to leave.

And then… I start crying again, and he comes back to hold me and tell me that it’s ok. And I just feel so stupid for making an issue out of nothing and say something silly between sobs like “I suck at this relationship stuff. I always do this.” ::Ding Dong:: Sunny arrives. Perfect timing. So we’re cuddled in the hallway and I’m in my undies and all cry-face. And he just stays with me saying it’s ok. After about 30 seconds I feel bad that Sunny’s out at the front door, wipe my eyes, thank BF for being so awesome, apologize for being so emotional unexpectedly, and ask if he’ll let Sunny in on his way to Tom’s while I wash my face. He says “of course” and opens the door to Sunny like nothing happened saying that I just got out of the shower. He’s so great. And I’m such a girl sometimes it annoys the crap outta me. LOL So I try to clean up my red splotchy face, get ready fast, and assure Sunny that everything is fine when I walk out to greet her. I don’t cry very often, but it was obvious that I had been crying and she was concerned. So I explained… and she just goes “he loves you, you know”. I laugh. I know she’s right… and that’s what makes me feel better. We head out and have a great brunch with Tina and the gang.
I sent BF a text from brunch to say “Thank you for listening and being real with me today. I appreciate that you stayed to talk and comfort. You’re the best BF eva!! Love you so much!”
His reply was “I’m glad you’re feeling better. Let’s try not to be mean to each other. We just got to the pool. So whenever you get free you should come join us. Love you too!”
Then I had to reply with “Agreed. Let’s just get nekkid instead next time. :P xoxo”.

Then after brunch Sunny and I head back to my place, I drop her off and start to get my things together for the pool, but I know I’m not in the right state yet to hang out with Tom’s family and BF and drink on a Sunday afternoon/evening and be social…. so I call BF and let him know I’m not feeling 100% and don’t want to be Debbie Downer with his friends. He understands completely and isn’t upset at all. He just ended up telling them that I had a friend in town from out of state (Tina) and wouldn’t make it to the pool today. He’s so sweet to cover for me like that.

Anyhoo… later that night I’m bored and need to feel productive again. I decide to head to Walmart for organization supplies for the office… and on my way there I get a text from BF that he’s on the way home. It’s only about 7:30, I wasn’t expecting him that early, and I was craving sushi… so asked him if he wanted to meet me at the sushi place. At dinner we talked a little bit more about the day’s drama and we both apologized. I thanked him again for being so great about my silly mood and holding me while I cried about nothing. He just said “you were hurting, what else would I do?” like it was the simplest thing in the world. And I said “you could have just left. People do that.” It never occurred to him to leave me there crying. So I told him that it means so much because I have dated guys that have left. That I’ve known a lot of jerks and so I really do appreciate him so much. It was a good night.

So now that I’ve rambled on for eternity in mush-mode, I need to put my Sassy Hat back on and comment on your shenanigans. You started talking about nerdy graphs and percentages and I got all excited. WTF. Don’t tease me like that. Ass. : ) BTW… how awesomesauce is it that Sheldon won an Emmy. Squee!

Oy vay for Clarissa and this CrapMan. WTH. I hate when I need to slap someone, but I’m too far away to do it. Bad idea for you to slap her since there’s a work connection. Better it come from a stranger. It’s more random and unexpected that way. It's potent.

Very nice. I love that the firemen are obviously stalking you… ok, it’s not “literally” obvious… but so transparent. Just like the shower curtains… mmmm…. LOL I hope they keep up the good work. Next time you better not have your back to the street. This is elementary my dear, always sit for optimal man-watching. It’s one of those easy joys in life.

And I’m very impressed that you had a random conversation with a cutie runner on the street. Way to roll with it. ::high five::
Sangria = Love. There is no more to say about this. <3

Your Grade: B -
It might seem harsh, but you were right… I was hoping you’d be keeping an eye out for the more dateable men. But you did talk to the Running Man, that saved you from a “C”. Keep these likes and dislikes in mind for future. They might surface again in later assignments. ; )

Any fun plans for this week?

As ever,

And I'm back...

Hey Sass,

It's a bit weirder trying to communicate when I can't scroll down to your see your message. And I find myself wondering if people are going to judge what I write. Whatever. If you hate it, then don't read it; this is what you get :P

You know I'll visit you (someday, LOL). A race is not required, but a total motivator for a visit. Particularly if you scope out the Mr. Octobers in your area, LOL (did I tell you that Gabby runs past a fire station on every morning run; so it totally works). Which reminds me of that cutie firefighter at the station I saw last week...hmmm...totally going running tonight.

Oh, but happy hour. Running after eating is one thing (by the way, you should wait, otherwise you may cramp) but running after drinking? I think that one's a recipe for disaster. Then again, I could just stumble into the firestation, all dehydrated and loopy and they'll have to begin mouth-to-mouth (see, I'm learning from you, LOL).

Happy hour has been confirmed, though Sandy and hubby are not coming; they actually went to this place last night. I got an email from Sandy apologizing, b/c they ended up at this place after dinner yesterday, and she felt they 'were cheating on me' since I had suggested they come to happy hour there tonight, LOL. Oh well. The work people are in, maybe my sis too. I look cute (if I do say so myself) and so we'll see what happens, LOL.

The H4H session was interesting, but mostly stuff you could learn on the website. Except for the fact that the info session WAS NOT MANDATORY. I can just go on their online system and sign up for a build, just like that. I don't even have to take the intro-to-power-tools course (though I might b/c I don't want to look like a total idiot. I mean, I know how to use a drill, but still...).

Smart

P.S. Yes pictures would be rubbing it in too much. But then again, if I see what goods your town has to offer, you may see me there sooner rather than later :-)
